Cameron Steele is in the second year of her masters in poetry at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she also serves as an editorial assistant for the Prairie Schooner, a slam poetry coach for Lincoln Southwest High School, a yoga instructor for Lotus House of Yoga, and a social media and marketing director for Lotus House of Yoga. Her poems and creative non-fiction are forthcoming or have appeared in Red Paint Hill, Wherewithal Lit, Ivy Hall Review and Northern Colorado Writers’ “Pooled Ink” edition. Her first chapbook “Attribution” was published in 2014 by the South Dakota State Poetry Society, and her poem "Dreaming of Ducks" won the Academy of American Poets College Award in 2010. Before coming to UNL, she spent nearly four years as an investigative crime reporter at The Charlotte Observer in North Carolina and The Anniston Star in Alabama.
